Media Divorces

How does the media cause divorces these days? I don't know, but more and more couples are ending their relationships these days because the media says that it wont last.
How are we suppose to think that marriage will last if everywhere you look, you are seeing another marriage failing in the media.
My life is focused on God and He says that one man with one woman, not one man with several women or visa/verse.
I believe that any person that airs their dirty laundry out in public for the media to tear up. Is asking for their marriage to have some flaws in it.
Because you will be under a microscope where ever you go, in all that you do.
So think about how divorce is affected by the media today.

Facebook

Is Facebook becoming a new media its self. I know it is considered a Internet site but i think it is on its own level.
Facebook also open several ways to meet and talk to people that you haven't in years. It is a ultimate friend finder.
But now it is also a huge media outlet, because you can read messages, play games, read articles, notes, and communicate. But it is also means of huge advertisement.
Over 75 million dollars this year was made from simple businesses buying advertising on facebook.
What is facebook turning into, it started off with a simple plan be a social network for people to keep in touch with their friends and family. But now it has turned into a huge profit play ground with ads going up left and right.
So what is facebook really used for these days and why are we keeping it alive.

Keeping up with the times!

How is it possible to keep up with the Jones. I can not afford to keep up with them, they make me charish the world instead of God. Why do we think that we have to keep up with them. I think that it is because the media trys to put it in our minds that we have to have everything. You need to put God first in your life and just let everything else just fall into place.

New Advertising

Advertising is the bases of our economy. We cant turn on a TV, radio, phone or even put on clothes without advertising. My life is advertising but now it really has just exploded out of the norm. Now there is many new types of advertising are phones have virtually exploded. We get many many advertisements in our phones all of the time. From facebook links to our phones to free games on ipods.
We need to get a handle on the advertising it is now in public places such as bathrooms and everything else. It is like everyone and everything is a build board.
But we are in this new age and it is a buyers economy.

Media Build Up

How come the media can build a sport real fast and make seem awesome. How in the world is driving a car in a circle so hard and worth all the hype we put into it.
NASCAR is not really hard, you make a left turn and then another and another until you go in a circle. Why, is that so news worthy if you beat a person in a circle.
I have no clue, but everyone thinks that you are an amazing athlete.
I just don't know how you can blow a sport so out of portion.

Lottery

What is the lottery have to do with going to college. Apparently a lot because a lot of new funds from the lottery are helping with the Arkansas Academic college scholarship.
But why are Christian schools not excepting or allowing any of there students to participate in this lottery.
Because it is not morally right. You are supposed to work for your money. Not hope that you win 100,000 dollars scratching a piece of paper. It says in the bible if you dont work you dont eat and the Christian schools are just trying to uphold this responsibility.

Excessive

I really hate hearing about Jon and Kate plus 8, they were really good christian people who just went a stray by the stress of a reality series. But why are they talking about the divorce still it happened 9 weeks ago. Why is it still important? They just think that a painful divorce sells well in this industry.

I really think that it is over played and they need to stop with all this non since. The kids are feeling all the wrath now. It is not helping out at all that they are on TV all of the time. No one in there house hold can get over this as long as the news shows keep opening the wounds. They have really played this out to long and they need to end it. If not for Jon and Kate at least for the kids.

Pub Design

I was just thinking of all the things in this world that have terrible designs like our School Chatter. It doest have a certain flow about it, your eyes are just jumping around the flyer like they dont know what to look at first. I just think there is a certain flow that designs need to be in . First they need to catch your eye and slowly lead your eye to where it needs to go like left to right, or up and down. But just think the next time you think about why either your business or flyers are not being read by people. It might be because they have no central flow and it looks to busy and messy. There is a system to great design.

Stupid Headlines

Typhoon Rips Through Cemetery; Hundreds Dead
Why in the world would people write this headline what were they thinking. Typhoon Rips through cemetery of there are hundreds dead it is a cemetery. But are they meaning that the typhoon kills hundreds of people or are the people who were already dead been dug up by the typhoon. This headline is funny but stupid i dont understand how it made it through the editing process.
Man Struck By Lightning: Faces Battery Charge
I mean were the editors even thinking when they made this headline.
This is just to funny how could you even read this article after this headline. Would you still take it seriously eventhough it has a joke for headline.

Pub Design

What does designing have to do with journalism? Everything!! There are several things that you do with design. Newspapers have there pages designed and special inserts and websites. A lot of time is put into making designs for newspapers. But also magazines, websites, fliers, and much more Journalist use for there daily jobs. Design is a huge thing many of us need to learn. Trying to understand this concept takes a little time. Where to put the words and the pictures and graphics on the page to help get the most attention. Just putting stuff in the right position can draw a persons attention. Design is one thing that journalist really need to understand to be a successful paper/magazine/or just a daily flier. Make sure you understand this so you can be very well rounded.

Designing

When writing /designing a newspaper page is a lot of fun. Even though I didn't have to write that much, i had a blast designing. To figure out what goes into designing a paper, it is hard work but a lot of fun and a huge payoff.
When trying to decide were to put the articles, what is the lead story where can the beats go? I have no clue, but then I started to look at it logically. The bigger story gets top priority. And then went down from the size there but i realized the longer the store the bigger the importance.
I realized that liked balancing out the pictures and stories. And made sure my spins were well played, but i still have one problem doing the page. I cant right Headlines to save my life. They are so difficult and I cant think of any ideas.
But i really enjoyed designing the newspaper page! Cant wait to do it again!!!!

Food Column

Why do I have a problem writing about food? I eat it everyday why can I not just put it into word? What I tasted, smelled, felt, saw, and heard, bringing the whole experience to life for the readers.

I started off of writing it with of course WRITERS BLOCK. Why can't I just start, but instead I think way to much about the experience. It is like I am describing it in great detail but not really telling anyone about it in the same situation. I am just going the wrong direction. Then I started to think, if i was reading this what would i want to here.

Is there food great?
Was it made right?
Did i get it fast and accurate?
How much did it cost?
Is the service that great?

Now i just have to apply all of these questions in my column. Which i did by slowly telling about my experience, and one by one i answered all of the questions that i think i would want to hear if i was a reader.

It wasn't easy to write though. I had a difficult time describing all that happened to me while i was eating. Especially using my 5 senses to make sure the reader could experience what i did. And in return it was a success even though it had tons of mistakes. But that is what copy editors are for right. But i really enjoyed the experience in food journalism.

Intrigued

Why the recent interest? I honestly have no clue! What was I thinking? Journalism is such a broad subject, and it contains so many rules and regulations. Where do I even attempt to start writing.

When I start to write an article for a newspaper, thoughts and images, do not come to me right away like most journalist. Even before I start writing, I have (WRITERS BLOCK!!!!) I don't even understand what to do. Ahhhhhhh!!!

Can I start at the age of 20, learning a new language? Put a comma here, capitalize here, lower case here. It took me this long just to learn simple English rules such as don't end a sentence with (AT) or make sure you capitalize peoples names, or even (i before e except after c).

But this semester I am going to try to learn some of this alternate language of journalism and express how my trials and tribulations play out. Maybe I will get lucky and it will just start to click or maybe I will just fail miserably. I wont know until I try. Here I go. Please though, keep me in your prayers and God will help me figure out this chapter in my life.

P.S. I know I have several errors in this article, but I am not a professional, or a copy editor so don't judge me.
